Nineteen47 submit EIA Scoping Report on behalf of Afan Valley Ltd

Excitement surrounding the Afan Valley Adventure Resort builds as the project takes another substantial leap forward with the submission of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Scoping Report to Neath Port Talbot (NPT) Council.

Nineteen47, who have been instructed on behalf of Afan Valley Ltd to co-ordinate an Environmental Statement, described the submission as “the first critical stage in the Environmental Impact Assessment process.” Now that the Council have received the scoping report they have 8 weeks to come back with their ‘Scoping Opinion’.

This large-scale report is a rigorous and detailed form of assessment accompanied by a raft of technical documents and appraisals. It is designed to scope out the various technical issues associated with the site and ranges from an assessment of the air quality, all the way through to determining the feasibility of transport links in the area.

It is expected that the report will be a resounding success, and in a meeting between nineteen47 and NPT Council the planning officer re-emphasised that the council will resource themselves accordingly to suit planning needs and the needs of the project as a whole.

Following the submission of the report a hugely productive and electric project team meeting was held where the ongoing evolution of the design proposals were reviewed. Discussions were also held regarding the various ground breaking technical updates that have developed since their last meeting.

Looking forward, the next project meeting in late September will produce further design work for the indicative masterplan. Work will also be carried out on the cutting-edge lodge designs. Each zone will feature individually designed lodges which will perfectly complement the style and experience that can be found in each area.

With the progress that is being made with designs and the fact that the vast majority of surveys have been completed or are well underway, the Afan Valley Adventure Resort project is picking up pace and snowballing, not just in the Alpine Zone, towards exciting new developments.
